Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything's Sophie Reynolds talks season two Ashley, her binge-watching favorites and more!

What makes working on a show like Gamer’s Guide so fun for you?

The people involved really are the best part of the job! The cast and crew are so great and it really is an amazing environment. Plus, I’m acting everyday and that makes me happier than anything.

What would you say is the hardest part about being on a show like this?

Right now the most difficult thing is keeping up with school at the same time.  We have amazing teachers on set who really help make it as easy as possible for us, but keeping up with school can be difficult when we are working full time.

You recently wrapped up filming the Season 2 finale, what has been your favorite part about the season – both overall and for your character?

This season you really get to see our characters evolve so that was my favorite thing.  Especially for Ashley, this season was huge.  Ashley really matures a lot in this season and you get to see a completely different side of her. I got to show off some more serious sides of her as well as her usual funny and spunky self so that was really amazing for me.  Exploring this whole new side of Ashley was really cool for me.

What’s your favorite part about playing a character like Ashley? What makes her so unique for you?

My favorite part about playing a character like Ashley is her strength.  She is this strong and independent girl as well as a super loyal friend. I think my favorite thing about playing Ashley is getting to really explore her depth. She is very funny which is always a blast, but she is also deep and would do anything for her friends, something you really get to see in season 2. She’s so unique to me because I think a lot of times high school girls are either portrayed as a mean girl, or someone who is so sweet they let everyone walk all over them.  I think Ashley doesn’t really fit into either of those categories, so it’s really exciting to play her.

What has been your favorite episode, and why?

This is so hard for me to choose and my favorite changes a lot but I think my favorite is the season 2 finale which has not aired yet so I don’t want to spoil anything, but it is a really exciting episode. It’s a huge episode for Ashley emotionally and it was definitely the most challenging episode so far from an acting side, so I think it might be my favorite.

If you could have changed one thing about Gamer’s Guide what would it be?

Honestly I love doing it so I really can’t think of anything other than maybe I wish we had more episodes! I’m never ready for the season to end.

What are some things you’d love to see in Season 3?

I think season 2 we get to see the characters grow up a lot and I’m looking forward to more of that in season 3.

It seems like the cast has become very close friends through the experience of being on the show – what’s the best part about working with them?

The cast is absolutely amazing and I love all of them! I think my favorite thing about working with Cameron (Boyce), Felix (Avitia), and Murray (Wyatt Rundus), is how much fun we have together.  They are a hilarious bunch to be around so we always have a lot of laughs on set. We love to play basketball at lunch together and really have become a close group.

With that friendship/bond there are bound to be moments where it gets to be very hard to get through scenes because people are laughing too much -  Can you think back to maybe one or two scenes that were just really hard to get through because no one could keep it together? Which scene(s)/moment(s) comes to mind?

There have definitely been a few of those scenes where it is hard to get through. One of my favorite memories of this was this scene where Felix and Murray were supposed to improvise a fight and Cameron and I were supposed to break it up. The things they would say during this improvised fight got us every time and we could not stop laughing! It was so good.

We had some people on social media tweet and post questions for you, here were some of our favorites:

                  Favorite movie?

                  All the Harry Potter movies!

                  Favorite food?

Who is the person who has inspired you the most?

                  My mom

                  Favorite emoji?

                  The laughing crying face!

If you could have any superpower, which would it be and why?

The ability to teleport so I could travel anywhere in the world at anytime.

Are there any other projects you are currently involved with? Can you tell us a bit more about them? What should people be keeping their heads up for?

The movie I filmed last year, Mostly Ghostly: One Night in Doom House is coming out September 6th and I can’t wait to share that. I play Cammie, alongside Corey Fogelmanis and Blake Michael. It was an absolute blast to film.

Watchtivist was created “for the active watchers of entertainment.” I’d love to know what shows/movies you’re currently hooked on. What are YOU binge-ing right now?

Currently I’ve been bingeing The West Wing and Better Call Saul on Netflix! I also love Modern Family, How to Get Away with Murder, and Stranger Things. Parks and Rec is also an old favorite of mine that I love watching reruns of.

If you could be on any one of those or join the cast of any of them, which would it be?  What type of character on that show and why that show/character?

I would probably say Parks and Rec because I love Amy Poehler. I just want to eat breakfast food at J.J.’s Diner with Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope so any role I can do that in would be great!

And lastly, anything else you would like to say to the readers and viewers?
